This Yunomi (tea cup) is handcrafted by Seto ware potter Takemitsu Iwatsuki, renowned for his mastery of Kise-to glaze. Rooted in the long tradition of Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, Iwatsuki continues to bring the warmth and beauty of this historic style into everyday life.
Kise-to, a signature glaze of Seto ware since the 16th century, is loved for its soft yellow tones and gentle warmth. Produced by adding iron to ash glaze and firing in an oxidizing flame, it creates subtle variations in color that give each piece a unique character.
